Lately, I’ve been extra particular with my skin. I’m only getting older (30 in September) and I’ve realized how all of the little missteps can add up.
I used to scrub my face furiously to remove makeup, but then I considered the fact that I could actually be facilitating wrinkle development by doing so.
So, these days I’m extra careful when I wash and dry my face patting and apply my lotions and serums more gently.
I cleanse with lukewarm water instead of hot and always use a freshly cleaned face towel for drying.
It’s the little things that make a difference over time.
If you’ve ever used a zinc oxide based sunscreen, you’re probably aware that it’s pretty water resistant. It drives me crazy how difficult it is to wash off. I feel like I have to wash it like three times, with three separate pumps of soap to really get all the residue off.
It just feels like a lot of unnecessary face touching and rubbing and also a lot of wasted product.
So that’s why I’ve decided to add face wipes to my routine.
Now before washing, I’ll gently pre-clean my face with a wipe and it helps my cleanser lather so much better.
I know there are a million face wipes on the market and I’ve tried a few of them, but I’m currently loving these Avalon Organics Intense Defense Detoxifying Towelettes. They actually remind me of these Olehenriksen ones for half the price and with cleaner ingredients.
I love that I can throw them in my purse or travel bag too. Like sometimes if it’s a long day at the beach or on the boat, my face gets all gross from the salt water and sand it’s nice to wipe it down before reapplying sunscreen.
I like using them after a sweaty workout and I’ve noticed that it help my pores from getting clogged. They’re just really efficient.
So now I’m curious…
Who loves face wipes?
Who hates them?
And which are your favorites?
