Over the past few years, I’ve been committed to cleaning up my beauty routine. I put so much effort into loving the inside of my body with healthy food, that it only makes sense to do the same for the outside of my body too.
I’ve known the harmful effects of toxins in personal care products for a while, but it’s not the easiest thing to give up on beloved brands that I’ve been using for years . Slowly transitioning, I’ve spent time researching and testing some badass clean products. And I’m truly amazed by the growth within the clean-beauty industry.
I do my best to choose the healthiest products, but in all honestly, I still use some of my old (not so clean) favorites. I think that’s okay because any progress in the right direction is positive.
Over time I’ll be sharing my favorite beauty products and today is all about cleansers. So here you have it, three of my favorite natural cleansers as of lately.
1. I love how the Indie Lee Rosehip Cleanser is packaged in a beautiful high-end box, a glass container with a pump and its contents a rosy pink tinted gel. The smell is a lovely light, sweet, floral scent. With warm water, it creates a good lather, does a nice job removing makeup and leaves my skin feeling clean, calm and balanced.
2. An Ulta saleswomen sent me home with a week’s supply of Juice Beauty samples from the green apple collection (she insisted I’d be back). I was instantly impressed with product quality and went back the next day to buy them. The Juice Beauty Green Apple Brightening Cleanser gently exfoliates with malic acid to keep my skin bright between a weekly at home peel and has since become my go-to morning cleanser before working out.
3. Saving the best for last, the Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser is my favorite. Taking a Sephora employee’s recommendation, I read through pages of reviews and decided to buy it. I love that it’s scented with neroli oil (a favorite of mine), does a fantastic job brightening (with Vitamin C) and balances my oily skin (with Moroccan Clay). Most impressively, I had noticeably fewer blackheads after just a week of exclusive use. It lathers well and does a great job to gently remove makeup.
